Three-wheeler (3W) sales in India saw good growth in March 2026, mainly due to stronger demand in rural areas and a growing shift towards electric vehicles. Electric three-wheelers made up the largest share at 57.89%. CNG vehicles came next with 27.19%, followed by diesel at 14.51%. Petrol and ethanol models had a very small share of just 0.41%.

According to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), total three-wheeler retail sales reached 1,09,777 units in March 2026. This reflects a 10.52% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to 99,325 units in March 2025. However, on a month-on-month (MoM) basis, sales fell by 6.28% from 1,17,130 units recorded in February 2026.

Bajaj Auto continued to lead the market, selling 41,162 units and holding a 37.50% share. The company is benefiting from steady demand in both traditional (ICE) and electric three-wheeler segments. Mahindra ranked second with 9,963 units sold, showing strong growth compared to 7,362 units in the same month last year.
EULER 3 Wheelers Variants with Price
TVS Motor Company posted one of the fastest growth rates, with sales rising to 5,543 units and its market share increasing to 5.05% from 2.97%. Atul Auto recorded sales of 3,022 units. In contrast, YC Electric saw a sharp decline in performance, with volumes falling to 1,927 units from 3,450 units, and its market share dropping to 1.76%. Among other electric 3W players, Dilli Electric reported 1,604 units, Saera Electric Auto recorded 1,439 units and JS Auto posted 1,099 units. Other manufacturers together contributed 35,375 units.

For the full financial year FY2026, total three-wheeler (3W) retail sales reached 13,63,412 units, showing a strong growth of 11.68% compared to 12,20,834 units recorded in FY2025.
Bajaj Auto remained the market leader with sales of 4,73,247 units, followed by Mahindra at 1,10,036 units. Piaggio recorded 90,892 units, while TVS Motor Company posted strong growth, with sales doubling to 55,488 units from 25,882 units in FY2025. Among other players, YC Electric saw an 18% decline, with volumes at 36,807 units. Meanwhile, Atul Auto registered growth, reaching 32,422 units.
Saera Electric Auto and Dilli Electric also reported lower sales volumes during the year. In contrast, Zeniak Innovations saw its volumes rise to 16,055 units. Other manufacturers together contributed 5,03,965 units to the total. Overall, the three-wheeler (3W) segment continues to grow steadily, with increasing adoption of electric vehicles playing a major role in driving this momentum across markets.
